......Born in L.A. and raised in Azusa California, Lorenz began his musical career at the early age of six, with his family pushing him to take Piano lessons. Throughout middle school he concentrated on learning and writing poetry. As a freshman in high school he took up the acoustic guitar and by the end of his senior year he had also learned the electric bass.
......During that same time frame, his band, "Asylum" was playing the L.A. and local music scene. Among the many bands that they opened up for, two of them were well known and went on to sing a better song, Poison, and Guns and Roses.
......After graduating high school, he had already begun taking vocal and acting lessons. In college he studied music theory and writing, which led to his need to perform. It was from all his studies and meetings with other artists that kept him committed to constantly searching for that perfect sound.
......Since 1994 Lorenz has established himself with a distinctive musical personality. He has demonstrated his versatility and gained an even wider recognition by performing several styles of singing, from a light and mellow feel of Chris Isaak, to the low gravel-biting vocal of Louis Armstrong. He is recognized for his strong and creative imagination that presents a fresh, new sound and approach to already known favorites.
......Recently, 2003-2004 has brought to life a small goal of his, a home studio. Z-haven is a well equipped computer based operation, set up for video/multimedia and hard drive recording. Lorenz now resides in Alta Loma California, where he lives with his wife Michelle, their daughter Natalie Van, their son Max Tayor and a cat named Monet.
