......Frank has been playing guitar most of his life. Like many guitar players, he began playing Spanish and steel string acoustic guitar in church as a young boy. He later took an interest in electric guitar at age 12. Frank started his musical career while he was still in High School. He hooked up with several lifelong musician friends to form a band called Clearlake and began playing locally in the South Bay area. Things began to really take off for Frank after he met a 13-year-old female singing sensation named Valerie Wilson in the City of Downey. Frank knew that this girl had a future in music and with the help of the band, began cultivating her singing talent to form a unique act of top 40 and country music. Clearlake grew from a local band to a statewide “act” performing at country fairs and special events such as the Bob Hope USO tours. As the 1970’s came to a close, Clearlake was signed by the GM Agency and recorded a record as well as began a series of tours throughout California, Nevada and Idaho. Clearlake reached its peak in the early 1980’s when they fronted a concert for Bobby Bear as part of a Willie Nelson Productions concert at the Elko Nevada Convention Center. During these busy years, Clearlake played in almost every town in Nevada at local Casinos and show houses until Valerie Wilson moved on to a solo career a couple of years later.
Without missing a beat, Frank began working with several bands throughout the 1980’s playing a variety of music from rock to country, salsa to folk, top 40 to funk, soul to R&B.
As the 1990’s ushered in, Frank found himself in such rock bands as the “Dime a Dozen” band and the “Interplay” band. With the growing popularity of Indian casinos, Frank also was utilized as a “house guitar player” which took him around the country with groups of musicians versatile enough to back up a variety of acts in the casinos.
Love of musical variety has kept Frank playing throughout his career. It is this common thread, which made him a natural fit for the music of Lorenz. Although Frank continues to do other musical projects, He is a regular of the Lorenz show and with any luck, will continue to be so for some time.
